Floral Skirt Two Ways

You have heard me talk often about warmer weather and my love for it!  It is a great time to try out some fun prints, or different fabrics.  I love lace so when I saw this Hydrangea skirt, I fell in love.  It is happy and amazing, just like summer 🙂

I have always loved shopping at Downeast so I am really excited to be bringing you a couple looks featuring this beautiful skirt from their new Special Occasions collection.  I just love the intricate details of the skirt! I also love the length.  Since I am nursing my baby, I wanted to bring you a couple options that were also nursing friendly! White floral and lace medium length skirt, with mint top. Dressy date night style for Spring.

White Floral Skirt wit lace and eyelets. Lovely Mid length skirt for Spring.

For the first one, I chose to pair it with the City Center top for this more dressy look.  The waistline is so flattering with a top tucked in, and the way the lace extends on the end makes it look so elegant! I am also loving the soft color on the top!

Nude heels, with white lace floral skirt, and mint button up top. Springtime style! Women's style, elegant style, mom style, date night style. Styling white lace and mint! Loving this mid calf white floral skirt and mint top. I paired this outfit with tan heels and a simple gold bar necklace.

For the second, more casual look, I paired the Hydrangea skirt with the Garden Romp top.  Tying it in front gives it a little more personality, as well as helping to create a more flattering shape.  I will be wearing this top a lot this summer! Also, it is on sale whoop whoop!

Date Night Dress

It is hard to believe that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! We have a lot of holidays in February so we actually moved our Valentine’s to August.  I still want to bring you a look perfect for the occasion, however! We will be celebrating our Anniversary that week, so whatever your occasion, I have the perfect date night dress for you. black-lace6-1-of-1

This dress is not maternity, but it does have some stretch to it.  The material is thick, so I feel like it’s easier to wear than some other form fitting dresses I have tried.  I just can’t get comfortable in those slinky ones knowing that all my lumps and bumps are on display haha!  I think the high neckline, knee length, and long sleeves in combo with the thicker fabric make this super comfortable!  The side panels are made of a stretchy sheer material, just FYI.  I didn’t realize that when I ordered the dress.  I just wore a black slip under it, though, and it filled in well.  Now I think the sheer panels give it a little more stretching power for my steadily growing belly haha 🙂 black-lace3-1-of-1black-lace1-1-of-1

My favorite part, of course, is the lace on the bottom.  It adds such a feminine touch.  I paired it with these red bow heels that are definitely making a statement!  They are still in stock in smaller sizes.  If they don’t have your size, check out these.  I’m crushing hard on them and I think they would look amazing with this dress! black-lace4-1-of-1Wearing this black lace dress with red heels for date night! This dress ins't a maternity dress but it does have enough stretch in it to work with the bump!

Have you started making plans?  I’d love to hear any fun date ideas you have! XO

All you Need is a Light Jacket

Christmas always comes and goes so quickly! It is a bit of a whirlwind.  This year it was a chill whirlwind haha if there is such a thing.  We just enjoyed each other’s company and played games.  It was lovely!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well!

We were blessed with a fairly warm fall this year compared to past years.  This winter has had some beautiful days as well, even though right now it’s a bit on the snowy side.  If you happen to live somewhere where all you need is a light jacket, I envy you a bit!  This jacket still works for us snow people too, though.  It’s light enough to still be able to wear a coat over outside, and classy enough to hit a nice dinner for date night!

I chose to pair it with a simple black dress, but I have also worn it with some skinnies and boots.  It is so versatile and the little step detail in the front adds some structure and interest to any look.

This jacket also works with a growing belly 🙂

All you need is a light jacket! Loving this long warm tan, slightly peach colored coat! Fall and winter fashion!

As always, I’d love to see your styles, so tag me on Instagram and show me! Hope you have a lovely week eating those leftovers and recovering from the excitement 🙂 XO

A Top for Twirls

Red top, flowing tunic top with tie, lovely feminine style.

If you haven’t noticed already, I’m bringing a lot more red into my wardrobe this holiday season.  It’s such a festive color and I match my poinsettias hahared4-1-of-1

This top is not maternity, but I love how flowy it is.  It is great for any body type! The best part is definitely the sleeves.  I love how they flare! My daughter likes to borrow it and practice her twirls 🙂Red twirl top! Women's fashion and style, flowing red shirt with tie. Bar necklace, loose curls!

This top is not only comfy and cute, but it also comes in black and it’s on major sale! The back has a cute tie that adds a nice feminine touch.

We finally got our first real snow today so we are inside with the fire on and sipping hot cocoa.  I secretly hoped it would stay fall all the way through winter, but the forecast seems to have different ideas!  Maybe I’ll give in and make a snowman of the days haha XO

Lady in Red

Haha I didn’t know what to title this one.  All that kept coming to my head were songs about red dresses 😀 Ha so we will just go with it!

On that note, this red dress is the best ever! It is thick enough to wear without layering, the color is perfect, and the material moves so well.  Also, it is like wearing a giant blanket!  I love having something that is so easy to throw on, comfortable, and looks good.

r2-1-of-1 I often wear this dress on its own, but here I paired it with a jacket.  One of my favorite parts of it is the asymmetrical hemline.  I love how it is longer on the sides.  I wear it with boots a lot, and I also love how it looks with heels! Red long sleeve floor length dress styled with strappy leopard print heels and a leather jacket.

In celebration of cyber Monday, SheIn is offering a free gift for every purchase made tomorrow.  I have loved everything I’ve ordered!  Make sure you double check sizing.  r4-1-of-1

I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving with the people you love most! XO

Flowy Fall Maxi

I love when the leaves are both on the trees and on the ground.  It’s a small window, but I always appreciate it.  I love driving down streets downtown with big, mature trees!  It feels like a tunnel of amazing fall-ness 🙂

6-1-of-1

This dress from Make Me Chic also adds to the feeling of amazing fall-ness, because it is perfect for this weather!  It is fully lined through the skirt, so it is warm enough for these cooler days, but still flowy and easy to wear.  The olive color is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall and winter! One of my favorite parts about it is that it can be dressed up for a formal holiday party, or worn more casually as well.  I love a versatile piece that stands on it’s own!

Flowy Fall Maxi Dress. Long maxi wrap dress in green.

I chose to pair it with simple gold jewelry here.  I plan to dress it up with more jewelry and heels next time!  I love how comfortable it is, yet looks so classy.

What are your favorite fall items? We are fully embracing the pumpkin everything and hot wassail! XO

Hello Fall

You know I’m a summer girl, but this year something about the seasons changing has me more excited than usual.  I can’t quite nail down what it is, but I’m a fan of fall right now.  Could be the amazing colors, the cooler weather (therefore, comfy sweaters and boots) the delicious food, I could go on.  I guess I do know why it’s so great!  I have already started making hot wassail and planning all kinds of decorative sugar cookies.  Hello fall!

savanah-suzy-0037

One of the exciting parts of fall is definitely the style options!  I love this top from Shein because the color is amazing! It’s on sale for $17, which is awesome! I also love the little detail on the sleeves.  Unique pieces add so much to the personality of your outfit, and this one does just that!

My darling friend Corrie Butler took these photos of my friend Suzy and I.  I love how the light was captured!  I adore both of these babes 🙂

K let’s chat about our jewelry for a sec.  How amazing is this necklace?! SOO cool! It is from RUS Turquoise.  I’ve always had a thing for turquoise.  My grandma wore it all the time and I remember crushing on it while growing up.  It’s so unique and beautiful.  I can’t get enough!

What are your favorite things about fall? I’d love to hear! Hope you have an amazing week 🙂 XO

Braving Bibs

1-1-of-1

For the most part, when it comes to my style, I’m not always that brave.  Every once in a while I throw something crazy in there, but for the most part, I keep it safe.  I have been watching the overall trends going on for the last bit, and I actually think they are darling on most people.  I have even tried to convince my daughter to embrace them. She has a fashionable mind of her own, though haha 🙂6-1-of-1

When I found these bibs on SheIn I decided to take the plunge.  Most of myself is glad I did, even though I’m not yet brave enough to wear them all the time.  They are fun to switch things up!  4-1-of-1

I kept the rest of the look simple, with basic black for my top, booties, and accessories. I rarely wear my hair all the way up, but since I was already getting crazy ha I thought, “Why not!”

5-1-of-1

I found SO many darling things on SheIn! I’m excited to shop there again.  Check it out. They are having a killer sale right now!  Make sure you check sizing really well, though!

How do you feel about braving bibs?  I’d love to know your thoughts, and if you have a favorite pair!  Hope you are having a wonderful start to your week 🙂 XO

Braving Bibs! Overalls coming back in style!

Girl Maker

Being a “girl maker,” or mom of girls, is one of my favorite parts of my life.  No doubt, I would love boys too, but so far I’ve been dealt the girl card, and I’m pretty happy about it!  View More: http://staycsmartphotography.pass.us/boldbeautifullife

There are SO many things I have learned from raising my babes so far, and it’s clear to me everyday that I have so much more to learn.  I’m ok with that, though!  There are some important things I want my girls to glean. Being kind and compassionate, including to yourself, is a big one!  View More: http://staycsmartphotography.pass.us/boldbeautifullife

I loved this GIRL MAKER tee from Revol Roots because it connected to my heart.  It is made of the most comfortable material and I love how simple it is!  I wear it all the time!

I’m going to get real here.  I’ve had to learn a few things the hard way, and as a result, my parenting style has changed quite a bit these last couple years.  I used to parent a lot out of fear.  Mainly fear that I wouldn’t teach them something they needed to know, or that they would grow up lacking some major component of life I hadn’t given them. I put so much unnecessary stress into my life everyday, even though my intentions were pure.  My stress, of course, was not helping my children to be carefree, happy, and confident like I wanted them to be.  Haha like I had been stressing to teach them to be! Thankfully, I hit my knees in prayer and was guided to some books that helped me come to a pretty clear realization…The only way for me to truly teach them, is for me to be what I want them to be.  It was daunting and overwhelming at first.  I was in a place where I knew I had a lot to work on, in many ways.  Being kind to myself was not even something I was comfortable with.  Looking back on it now, it’s hard to wrap my head around the daily thoughts and conversations I allowed to roll around in my brain, and even vocalize to myself.  No wonder I was feeling inadequate as a wife, mother, homemaker, daughter, sister, friend, etc.  Sadly, I was telling myself I was inadequate in almost every way with the hope that it would somehow motivate me to do better.  Hence the fear of not raising my girls “right.”View More: http://staycsmartphotography.pass.us/boldbeautifullife

It has taken daily prayer, and intentional action every single day for the last couple years, but I’m finally in a place where I am kind to myself.  I’m not perfect by any means, and I catch myself slipping all the time.  All it takes, though, is one look in my daughter’s eyes to bring me back. (Or my sweet husband not letting us leave until I appologize to myslef for the self-depreciating comment I made 🙂 )  The best and most effective way to teach, in my opinion, is by example.  I feel like one of the greatest gifts I, as a mother, can give my daughters is to embody the things I am trying to teach them.  At first it seemed selfish to me to put so much effort in my improvement, but it has made such a difference!

Our home has become so much more relaxed and encouraging, the more confident I become in my imperfection.  I want my girls to know how beautiful and special they are, be confident, and the rest will come! I love being a GIRL MAKER!Girl maker t shirt- gray v neck! Girl mom shirt!

Have a wonderful week! XO
