A few weeks ago our good friends took us to this neat spot, Jump Creek. It has a beautiful waterfall nestled into some equally beautiful trees. It was a fun little hike, and Viv loved playing in the water!

Happy almost 4th of July! I love treats. All kinds, really. I love to make them even more than I like to eat them, so I decided for this post to share a quick dessert idea with you. It feels like it is a million degrees outside, so I wanted something light and refreshing. This is what I came up with! Start with angel food cake. I usually make mine from a box, but if you are feeling extra ambitious, go for scratch. Or just buy one! While cake is baking, whisk together instant vanilla pudding with 1 1/2 cup cold milk. Refrigerate to let it set. When the cake is cool, cut it into small cubes and layer in the bottom of a dish. Add blueberries and strawberries on top of cake. I like my blueberries a little sweeter, so I sprinkled them with sugar before layering them in the dish. Combine equal parts cool whip with pudding until smooth. Spoon on top and garnish with a berry!

I’m always surprised at how fast time flies. You’d think I could come to expect it by now, but it still catches me off guard. My little Myla has now officially graduated from preschool and is heading to Kindergarten next year! Crazy. Part of me feels like she has been a teenager her whole life, and the other part still wants to carry her around on my hip everywhere I go. She is charming, witty, intelligent, adorable, etc… I really could go on forever. I’m a fan. So grateful to have this little babe in my life!
She asked me to make her “a b c” cookies for her last day as VIP so we came up with these. Her requests are getting more and more labor intensive, haha, but she is worth it, right…?
Over spring break our good friends invited us to join them on a family trip to Moab, UT. They have three awesome kids about the same age as ours. We had never been there before, and were so excited to go! The trip went by way too fast, and we left already wanting to go back. Myla even asked if we could live there haha. It was incredibly beautiful, and the kids did so well hiking! We were able to go see a lot of the most well known sites. Our first big hike was to see Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. It was a couple miles round trip and I was so proud of the little kiddos. Most of the time we were trying to keep up with them! Pictures really can’t do justice to the beauty, but I’m glad we have them to help us remember it!

With our darling new addition, we are now a family of four! That means time to update our family photos. My friend Becky Phillips took these for us. M is definitely not afraid to get in there and pose! She may only be five years old, but she doesn’t miss a beat. I’m feeling very blessed to have this amazing family of mine!
Oh my! This darling babe of ours has completely changed our lives. She has such a beautiful little spirit about her. I feel like she is my magical drug because as long as I have her with me, I’m good. Ha I can be totally frustrated and I just cuddle her, and POOF happiness. It’s pretty amazing. I’m finally getting around to posting our maternity photos (now that my babe is four months old haha) and I decided to just share some of my favorites. I was nervous to have pictures taken since I got so much larger this pregnancy, but I can look back on it now and be grateful for that giant belly. Turns out, it was carrying a nine and a half pound babe after all! My sweet friend Johanna Hallenberger took these photos. We love working with her! As my husband puts it, “she just gets us.”
